Crisis Communications

Situation

A long-established professional organization that serves the medical community and the public was subjected to a class-action lawsuit, charging it did not safeguard the personal information of its constituents.

The Synergetic Group was engaged to help with a brand building and reputation improvement strategy.

Approach

The Synergetic Group worked with the executive director, executive committee of the board and legal counsel to fully understand the situation and concerns and align on objectives and goals. We then collaboratively created a communication strategy and actionable plans to help rebuild the organization’s reputation. In doing so, we

  • Defined and assessed audiences and other key stakeholders
  • Developed a compelling narrative and a plan for conveying key messages through various channels
  • Identified risks and mitigation
  • Identified and trained strategic spokespersons

C-Suite Communications

Situation

The new CEO and Firm Managing Partner at a top-25 accounting and advisory firm felt that the existing Mission, Vision and Values did not reflect where she wanted to take the Firm.

The Synergetic Group was hired to help refine the company’s Mission, Vision and Values, define key messaging, and provide a strategic communications plan, a crisis communications plan and a social media policy as well as provide ongoing communication guidance to the senior leaders and the marketing team for the duration of the contract.

Approach

Key aspects of The Synergetic Group’s approach included the following:

  • Audited the Firm’s recent communications as well as the messaging of its key competitors
  • Led the Executive Leadership Team in a full-day messaging workshop, including a competitive review, and drafted the Firm’s key messages and supporting proof points.
  • Gained an understanding of the organization to be able to create and provide a sound and realistic strategic communications plan
  • Reviewed and edited all communications to be sent to a broad audience (associates, clients, media) for consistency of message and appropriate tone
